Antalya Gazipaşa Airport has unveiled its newly expanded terminal building.
Operator, TAV Airports, hopes the modern new 6,400sqm complex, which is three times the size the original building, will help the gateway become a hub for Mediterranean region.
Now boasting a capacity of 1.5mppa, Antalya Gazipaşa currently offers flights to 19 destinations in nine countries and handles around 363,000 passengers per annum.
The work to expand its 2,500-metre runway is expected to be finalised by the end of the year.
TAV Gazipaşa’s operations co-ordinator, Cengiz Aşıklı, says: “Gazipaşa Airport continues expanding its destination network and contributing to the region’s and country’s tourism sector.
“Soon, THY will be launching 14 flights a week from Istanbul Atatürk and others will follow.”
A total of 250,000 passengers passed through the airport in the first half of 2014.
